The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced the official release of the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results for school candidates. The agency announced the release on its X page and further explained that candidates who participated in the examination can now check their results online.
However, we've taken a step further to guides students on how to check their results online. There are two ways to check WAEC RESULTS: Checking via the official online WAEC results checker, and checking via SMS. We've explained both methods in this article. Let's dive into it.
How to Check Your WASC Result Online in 2025
To check your WASSCE results online, you'll need to provide your WAEC Examination Number, SERIAL Number, and WAEC Scratch Card or e-PIN. Once these information is intact, then proceed to https://www.waecdirect.org to input them in their appropriate space, as explained in the instructions below:
- Type in your 10-digit WAEC Examination Number in the box labeled as such.
- Select or choose your Examination Year right after you've entered your exam number.
- Select Examination Type. For this recently released results, it's for private schools. So, select PRIVATE CANDIDATE RESULTS.
- Next, enter your WAEC Scratch Card or the E-PIN you bought.
- Lastly, enter your Serial Number. The serial number is printed alongside the WAEC Scratch Card and E-PIN.
- Now, click on "Submit" and your results will come out live. You can then print or save it as PDF.
However, it's important to note that your WAEC scratch card or e-PIN can only be used up to 5 times to check the same result. The 5-time limit applies only to the same candidate's result with same exam number, exam year, and exam type. If you try to use it for a different candidate, it will not work—even if you haven't reached the 5-check limit. Once you've reached the limit, you'll need to purchase a new scratch card or e-PIN to access the result again.
How to Check Your WAEC Results through SMS
Checking WAEC Results through SMS method is the most simplest method because it doesn't require any internet connection or internet supported device. However, a service fee of N30 will be charged per request. With that being said, follow the below guide to request your WASSCE via SMS:
- Open Message App on your phone and click on write a new message.
- Type "WAEC*ExamNo*PIN*ExamYear" e.g WAEC*4250101001*123456789012*2007.
- Send the message to 32327. It works for major service providers in Nigeria: MTN, Airtel, and GLO.
- More so, a service fee of N30 will be deducted from your airtime balance every time you send the message. So, make sure that you have sufficient balance.
